Billabong Art of Shaping Interview 2010
Posted on January 06 2022
This is not a story, but just a video of an old interview I did back in 2010. If you enjoy Infinity history, you may enjoy this video.
In 2010, I was invited to compete in The Art of Shaping contest in the ASR show in San Diego. After my board was done, Billabong came to the Infinity shop to interview me about the board and the event. Gee, in 2010 was already fairly “crusty” with mostly gray hair. Now in 2023 I am completely crusty, but still shaping about 200 surfboards a year and surfing all the time.
Taken from the video description:
"We meet up with iconic surfboard shaper Steve Boehne at his surf shop (Infinity surfboards) located in Dana Point, CA where he gives us a sneak peak at his entry board for the third annual "Billabong Art of Shaping: Orange County Edition." The 2010 Art of Shaping debuts August 13th at ASR Marketplace and August 14th at Sacred Craft Consumer Surfboard Expo in downtown San Diego. An auction on August 14th starting at 6PM will feature Boehne's board along with 21 others from the top shapers in Orange County to benefit the SIMA Humanitarian Fund."
